Such an adrenaline rush!
You are about to read a wild real life ordeal that I went through recently that was mad crazy to say the least, lucky for you Coz you are in for a treat and you will be getting free entertainment today!
I'm an African man, 25yrs old and I live in Kenya(I'm not going to state my whereabouts for obvious reasons ) . On this particular day, I found myself in quite a predicament that I honestly did not expect on this wonderful, bright Friday morning. I started my day fine and decided to go for an early morning run to get my blood pumping. I ran 3 km total and then went for a rendezvous with my weed dealer and the transaction was done and I was on my way back home. While on the way, something came over me and I felt like lighting up a blunt though my intuition was telling me not to but I said Fuck it, Imma light it up since I have zero fucks left to give and I was already so accustomed to it, that it didn't feel like it was a big deal. So there I was on my little stroll, casually walking while smoking my Jay, little did I know the Police had made their mark and were onto me. My spidey sense was a little bit rusty, I didn't pay much attention until I saw a Subaru that was circling the streets pull up in front of me. Right there and then I knew that was Suspicious and two men who were cops ordered me to go to them and immediately I knew was going to make myself scarce coz I was not about to ride in the back of a cop car with three possibly unhinged, violent men who are more than capable of doing God knows what. (God forbid that ever happens)
So I did the exact opposite and decided that it was time for another run. I knew that I wasn't going to stop since I had already triggered them by not complying. They started chasing after me and so I put them on a wild goose chase. Myself, being young and athletic and also avidly knowing the streets where I come from, I was determined to win the fight. I ran for a while until I thought I had lost them until I saw one cop dressed in civilian clothes on a motorbike, trying to catch up to me. I almost got caught there but somehow I avoided them. I got rid of the evidence by tossing my blunts on the side of the road before changing my route and started to run towards a completely different direction. By this time the cop had alighted the motorbike but the rider, who wasn't a cop was chasing after me urging me to stop. Well, I just couldn't stop and I kept on begging him to leave me alone, "I'm innocent" I said, all the while panting like a tired dog but he didn't listen to me, showed no mercy and threatened to knock me off my feet while he was beside me, chasing on.
To my surprise, he got off the motorbike and tried to stop me while on foot. He tried to pick up a rock and throw it at me while I was running, him chasing behind but it was all in vain. I looked at my surroundings and noticed that I had lost him for a minute.
My head being always on the swivel, saw an opportunity and decided to look for somewhere to hide since I had promised myself I'm not getting arrested and especially not today, being a Friday.I finally had a chance to take a breather after running as fast as I could for more than a kilometre. I had prayed to God to help me and protect me, worried that I might get arrested and that would be another problem, to my already problematic life. God answered my prayer, he watched over me while I watched the cops looking for me aimlessly, not knowing where to find me,with their two motorbikes. I managed to be patient as I stayed put,all the while sweating profusely. I was extra cautious not to raise any alarms until about half an hour passed and I called a friend who has a motorbike, he came through for me and we disappeared from the scene just like that. Like nothing happened.
I felt so lucky getting myself out of this situation as I had gotten myself a one way express ticket to jail. I thank God for getting me out of this tough one.It was such an adrenaline rush! I literally have chills right now. Later on I reflected and realised how risky and dumb it is smoking marijuana publicly in a country where it's illegal and vowed to always keeping a low profile at all times.
Lastly,I pat myself on the back a little for sacrificing myself on all those days going for long, tiresome runs. Didn't know it would come in handy one day. I don't know about you but personally I think being athletic and fit is definitely a good thing. These type of encounters rarely happen to me, but now that it did, it kinda really felt like a movie, you know being a wanted fugitive and all.(*breaths a huge sigh of relief* ) What a narrow escape that was and what a crazy day! Oh! Almost forgot! One more thing,Fuck the Police!
